  • 9-year-old and 7-year-old get married.

At first, I thought this was going to be some sick, twisted thing, but upon watching the video, I got really sad...

The "bride" is a 9-year-old was diagnosed with leukemia two years ago, and it was in the hospital where she met the  7-year-old "groom".  Their vows were to be "best friends forever", even though she has only a few weeks to live, and he is recovering.

Throughout most of the video, I had my attention on the little boy: he seems so sad, (probably because his friend is dying) and yet, I can't help but wonder how this will affect him later on in life.  The parents seemed totally okay with the entire situation (and its their kids, so they can do whatever they want, I guess), but I wonder what I would do?  What would anyone else do?  Is it like having one more big party while you are still all together?

This, and that British woman who is letting the last weeks of her life be filmed...strange ways to go, I think.  But then again, why not?  When it's over, it's over...and any chance to do anything is gone.

Hmm...okay, back to Archaeology homework now.

  • Back to school.

I guess this is my first post of the New Year, so yay!  Haha, not that it will be any kind of extreme, thought-provoking post or anything.

So, my first week of classes is almost over.  I was taking 16 credit hours, but now I am only taking 13.  So, when this semester ends, I won't officially be a junior...It irks me, but I know I can catch up this summer, and even be ahead a little.
But I had to drop the class.  It was an intro to literature class, and although I absolutely love to read, I have already been swamped with reading from all the anthropology classes I have to take.  Something did not feel right about the literature class anyways...I just had a bad feeling.  It was way out in a building farther than all the rest of my classes, except for concert band, of course, and there was so much reading.  I can't handle reading Shakespeare in three days, AND keep up with the rest of my classes!  O_o

Good news is the rest of my classes, although filled with tons of reading, are really interesting.  I can't wait to get deeper into the semester, and deeper into these books.  Having said that, I need to go read said books, and catch up already.

    BUT NO FRIDAY CLASSES!  w00t!!

About Me

  • I'm just living in my own little world, trying to get by... Haha, because you've heard that a million times, right? Really, it's like that, except that I'm also incredibly emotional, and sometimes it causes too much trouble.
